Unique Uses for Your Old Stuff
Newspapers:
- Use them as cheap insulation.
- They’re great makeshift potholders.
- Use them to pad your tablecloth.
- Stuff wads into old boots, luggage or other items that have developed a bad odor. The paper will soak up the odor overnight.
- Use them to clean windows, they don’t leave streaks.
Shower Curtains:
- Use as a drop cloth when painting.
- Turn it into a car windshield cover to prevent frost build-up or heat exposure.
- Cut an old one into an apron shape to wear for messy projects.
Single Earring:
- If you lose one earring, use its partner as a lapel pin.
Soda Bottles:
- Cut the bottom off in a “petal” shape to use as a decorative container.
- You can use the top as a lid as well.
Tissue Boxes:
- Use an empty one to store plastic shopping bags. The bags will be stored in a more compact way and they’re easy to pull out.
Toliet Paper Tubes:
- Store extension cords inside them to prevent the cords from tangling.
- Keep sewing needles, batteries and other loose items inside by taping up one end.
Wine Corks:
- Use one as a pincushion.
- Glue one to back of each rocker on a rocker chair to prevent it from tipping over backward.
