Party Planning Problems SOLVED!
Dear Apartments.com,
Iām freaking here ācause Iām giving a party for my boyfriend next Saturday and I donāt know what to do. Our apartment is a pretty small one-bedroom and I donāt know how to make it into a cool party space. Weāre only going to have about fifteen people so space isnāt a problem but I want to make this a fabulous night. Our living room is full of junk we donāt know what to do with and doesnāt look like a place youād want to come for a party. How can I fix up the apartment to make it a hip party space instead of a dull apartment?

Dear Uninspired,
Donāt fear!!!! There are hundreds of fun, cheap and easy ways to make a small space party ready. The first thing youāre going to want to do is get rid of the junk. Iām sure that this ājunkā is stuff that you use pretty often and since you donāt have that much time, youāre not going to want to go through a whole organization process (when you do though, check out our other articles on how to get organized). Get a box, stuff your ājunkā into the box and put it in your building storage for the short term. Get it out and organize it after the party. Now, for the dĆ©cor. Since the party is for your boyfriend, youāll need to think about what he likes. What are his hobbies? What is his favorite sports team? Musician? Local dollar stores offer endless possibilities from streamers to party favors. We all know that boyfriends can sometimes act like kids, so why not get some childrenās party favors and bags for guests? The effects of lighting are even more powerful in small spaces than in larger apartments. If youāre going for an intimate setting, low lighting will not only create a mood but with dimmer lights, any clutter will be hid in the shadows. Another fun thing might be to create a PowerPoint presentation including pictures of your boyfriend. This can be projected on a wall, or if you have a larger computer monitor, can just be looped on your computer during the party. Donāt forget the birthday hats, noisemakers, cake and ice cream!
