Ginseng – Ginseng is a stimulant and antioxidant. It stimulates the circulatory system, including the heart and blood vessels, and the brain. It has been used to treat rheumatic pain and is used for the reduction of the effects of radiation exposure and blood glucose in diabetics. Ginseng increases the secretion of histamine, reduces stress and fatigue, improves appetite, promotes healthy digestion, has been used as an aphrodisiac, increases mental and physical stamina, alleviates insomnia and treats the symptoms of menopause.

Iron – Iron stimulates the production of hemoglobin (the pigment in red-blood cells which carries oxygen to body cells). It assists in the production of thyroid hormones, connective tissue and brain neurotransmitters and forms part of several enzymes and proteins in the body. Iron is instrumental in the maintaince of a healthy immune system and essential for protein metabolism. It is usually prescribed for the treatment of anemia. Iron supplements may help in the alleviation of menstrual pain, stimulate the immune system and promote learning in children.

Jojoba – Although commonly used as a soothing agent in body care products (lotions, shampoos and conditioners), Jojoba, when used as a supplement, is an anti-inflammatory and promotes healing. It may help reduce the joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Used topically, it is a great treatment for dry skin.

Lecithin – Protects cells from damage by oxidation. Lecithin may also protect against cardiovascular disease and lower cholesterol levels.

Magnesium – Instrumental in proper bone growth and helps maintain a healthy heart, bones, muscles and blood vessels. It aids in the regulation of a normal heart rhythm, is important in the metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates and strengthens tooth enamel. Magnesium increases the conductivity of nerve impulses. In small doses, it can be used as an antacid, in large doses as a laxative. It may help to weaken the effects of lead poisoning, aid in the reduction of kidney stones and may be taken to treat heart disease.

Potassium – In the body, Potassium is a predominant positive electrolyte which maintains normal functions of the heart, skeletal muscles, brain and kidneys. It promotes normal muscle contractions and regular heartbeats as well as regulating the transfer of nutrients to the cells within the body. It also maintains the water balance in body tissues and cells. Potassium supplements may help with the treatment of alcoholism, allergies, burns, high blood pressure, acne, mood swings and fatigue in early menopause. It aids in the prevention of kidney stone formation.

Vitamin A – Vitamin A is most well known for its effect on eyesight. This vitamin will help improve night vision as well as color vision. It stimulates the production of white blood cells and helps maintain healthy skin.
