A great idea is to host a cooking (Pampered Chef) show. Most people, after moving into their first apartment, are short on funds. Hosting a cooking show can help you get many of these recommended items for free.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much, I now have a printable list I can take with me to the store. You are a life saver. There is nothing worst than wanting to cook something in your new place and at the last minute find out you don’t have the right utensils.

This is going to help me out a lot. Thank you. I do have an idea that would make it a little better though. You might want to add some basic cleaning supplies on the list. To clean up after you cooking fest. You will need to clean the counters, dishes, stove top, things like that. Just a thought. Again thank you for making this list avaible to us all.

When I turned sixteen I started asking for a few things for an apartment or living on my own, each year for Christmas. Then when it came time for me to move out, I had a fully stocked kitchen and an apartment full of refurbished hand-me-downs.

This is sooooo great. My boyfriend and I are moving out on our own and this is PERFECT for when we move out on our own. I can print it out and take it with us shopping. Thank you very much.

I will say as a recent mover (of many times), who normally finds giving things away the norm because of limited space; this list is very comprehensive. It needs to add a few other essentials:
1. Mop
2. Broom
3. Cleaning agents
4. Wash rags
5. Hand Towels
6. Oven Mitts
7. Dishwasher (and detergent)
8. Soap (sink variety)
9. Sponge or scrubber

Something worth including in one’s kitchen stock:

* Adhesive Labels
* Permanent Marker

It’s a good idea to label the purchase date of items stocked and when they were opened. If there’s space enough on the label, include the expiration/discard by date since it’s easier to see. This practice helps to discourage the purchase of rarely used items and waste, and encourage freshness. Rising and/or pH control ingredients like baking soda, baking powder and yeast, for example, have their limits and don’t work as well or at all after exposure to air.
