Wow! That is pretty messed up! I'm a property manager and have been for 9 years now, and the only thing I can think of that would prompt my calling a tow truck would be if you were parked in a "no parking zone." Also, if you were in any way blocking traffic that could be another reason for your manager to take such drastic measures. By all means, calling out a tow company to remove such a large vehicle would be my very last resort. Most importantly, my question to you would be, "were you parking this uhaul in an authorized parking area, or were you in violation?" As for the damaged items due to the tow companies negligence, thats the exact party that you should be holding responsible for any loss of property that you've incurred. If in fact you were doing no wrong by where you had parked this uhaul, then if I were you, I would write a letter and address it to both the manager and management company, requesting financial reconciliation for your troubles and make sure to add that you will be forwarding this letter to your attorney if they do not comply with your requests. However, if you were parked illegally then they have every right to tow you at their discretion. If they have proof of such, i.e. tow company and their own eyewitness accounts then you must keep in mind that you will be up against 2 parties, not just 1. If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to ask me at any time. I am so sorry your move was such an inconvenience, as it is, moving can be so stressful. I wish you all the best of luck with this matter.

My rude manager from a premium apartment complex deliberately had my U-Haul truck towed and did so to be spiteful.I have been a loyal tenant of 3 years until this particular manager took over. Is this legal and what is my recourse as far as getting my money back of $420 and pain suffering and harrassment. My items inside were damaged due to the towing company and I want to get all the help I can on pursuing this. I left a damage report with the towing company that towed it in. Also she did not use the towing company that they have posted on property she used someone else. We called the towing company that is posted and had no trace of a U-Haul ever. I made police and insurance reports/claim because we thought the truck was stolen. It cost me 2 days lost of work and stress to see my children deal with allof their things gone. I just would like to know where do I startandif you can help direct me before I start.I am nor do I want to leave any stones unturned
