How to Escape a Dangerous Situation
Record the following information at the accident site (if there are multiple people involved in the accident, this information should be gathered for each person):
- Name, address, phone number and drivers license number.
- Name and address of car’s owner (if not the car driver).
- Location of accident.
- Year, make and model of car(s) involved.
- License plate numbers.
- Name of automobile insurance company and policy number.
- Names, addresses and phone numbers of any passengers and/or witnesses.
- Any damage done to your car or any other car involved.
When this information is gathered, then:
- Call your insurance company as soon as possible after the accident.
- In the next 24-48 hours, file an accident report with your state and go to the doctor if you have any aches or pains.
- Take photographs of your car before taking it for repairs. Your insurance company will inform you of the next steps to take to repair your car.
